- About the Castroville Area Pet Shelter

Castroville Nip & Tuck in conjunction with the City of CATROVILLE has committed to building an Animal Control Pet Shelter for the City. The City will provide the land, infrastructure ( utilities ), maintenance, and a Animal Control employee. Castroville Nip & Tuck will build the building and have a memorandum  of understanding with the City on the operations of the facility.
The FCAC ( Friends of Castroville Animal Control ) will coordinate the Volunteer Program and continue their foster program through the shelter.

Currently the City has an antiquated holding facility. Animals are held for a minimum of 3-7 days before being euthanized. FCAC works with the City to foster as many of the animals being picked up by Animal Control. Castroville Nip & Tuck provides for all adopted animals through FCAC a voucher to have the animal spayed or neutered plus their rabies vaccination.

The City is working to improve its notification of animals being impounded by Animal Control. Information will  be posted by FCAC on their web site and their Facebook page.

The new facility will be called " CAPS - Castroville Area Pet Shelter ". You may remember the former CAPS was the first organization to provide a low cost spay and neuter program for the Castroville Area.

The pets or strays that end up in a holding/shelter facility time is limited by a matter of days. They need your help as do we.
